Engineering for Biology- Multidisciplinary Research Experience for Teachers of Elementary Grades
UF Mechanical Engineering colleague, Dr. Chelsey Simmons, runs an NSF-funded summer program for elementary school teachers. The goal is to help them develop ways to introduce engineering in their classrooms.

During Summer 2019, the Stoppel Lab hosted Kayla Sutcliffe (Glen Springs Elementary) and Mackenzie McNickle (Stephen Foster Elementary) from the Gainesville, FL community. The Stoppel Lab will continue to interact with these educators through lab demonstrations and student activities.
